drive-by - the ravenel bridge in chas., SC

3.15.2010

I took these out the window of our car in November, 2008 as we drove over the Ravenel Bridge. I love love love that bridge.

I haven't shared a lot of my scenery shots here, but these kept coming to mind recently, so I thought I'd pull out the archives - as if I'm not shooting enough already.

(17/365)

It snowed while I was home in VA, waiting with the kids for the water to get turned on at our new home in Charleston. I decided to play with a postcard idea in processing.

My parents have a great view...

On Gaining the Scope

2.02.2010

Last year I focused very much on the intimate details of things - this year, I'm going for scope and composition. I'm wanting to use my wide-angle lens for all it's worth, see what I can come up with for a fresh look to my photography.

Here's a sampling of how I'd like this to work in landscape, detail, and portraiture. Still developing - may take up my 365 project again, since morning sickness is all gone now.

(And yes, I am having waaay too much fun with the new baby.)

Christmas Sunset in Floyd, VA

Christmas in Virginia, with all the colors and light and cool and snow that I love. It was so worth the trip with the newborn.

In January, Pete and I decided we should go to the sea and catch a sunrise. Today, we finally got there...

Reveal

9.14.2009

Went home to Virginia with the toddler to help my parents move into their new house. This is the view of a morning from their front deck. I was very glad I brought the camera.

4:8 Project - Praiseworthy

2.19.2009

"He is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings the grass from the earth." (2 Sam. 23:4)

Oh, God must be so beautiful!

This photo is part of my 4:8 Project, a project/contest in which I would like to honor one photo left in my comments with each new post. Every four weeks, I will choose a submitted photo to win an 8 x 10 print from my photos - winner's choice. To participate, check out the info about commenting/entering and leave me a comment with a link to a photo of your own!

NOTE: To this point, I still have only one comment with a photo, a beautiful, peaceful shot from Cheri for the word "Lovely." If you have a photo that fits any of the words in my original post, feel free to leave a permalink in a comment on any of my Project 4:8 posts. Just include with it the word your photo matches! Oh, and you can submit more than one! I'll be reviewing and announcing my first print winner on March 8, 2009.
