Coming soon...

3.26.2010

Want a print?

I've been playing with design lately - working up a few photo products that I can sell from home. This one is currently set for a 12x8 print with linen texture and a matboard mount.

Price: $25.00 USD, plus shipping.

I'd love to get some feedback about the idea.

Would you buy?

"He brewed his tea in a blue china pot, poured it into a chipped white cup with forget-me-nots on the handle, and dropped in a dollop of honey and cream. He sat by the window, cup in hand, watching the first snow fall. 'I am', he sighed deeply, 'contented as a clam. I am a most happy man."

4:8 Project - March Giveaway

3.05.2009

"...Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
(Phil. 1:6)

My print giveaway this month goes to Laura Frantz, who almost apologetically submitted her Beanette for Praiseworthy. The image and thought totally made me turn around and go "wow" and I've been going "wow" all month remembering this shot. I'm just blown away by what God does as He creates and causes things to grow - not only the plants and life here on earth, but also the Life He gives in Jesus. Every time I think about this, I just give in to wonder! Thanks, Laura, for reminding me of Him!

Thank you all for your submissions! I'm really loving this project because as we get to share images, we get a chance to "think on these things" - and whether we're thinking on them at the moment or whether we think about them later, it's food for thought anyway!

I'm doing something a little weird with this for now - I will consider ALL 4:8 submissions every month. Only winning photos are disqualified (and I will wait one month to consider a winner's submission for a print). So this month, if you entered a shot, it's not over! Please do keep submitting links, because I'll be honoring at least one shot per post (now that I have some to honor!) Submissions are not limited to one, so keep 'em coming! There's a lot out there that goes with a lot of these words!

4:8 Project - True

3.04.2009

"If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself." (2 Timothy 2:13)

I chose to use the word "true" in the "faithful" sense, in that God is faithful to Himself and to His promises. Spring comes every year; it is something He brings to us all after winter, no matter where we live.

This photo is for my 4:8 Project, a project which I started to focus my photographical eye on the words in Philippians 4:8. Each time I post a photo for this project, anyone is welcome to post a permalink to a photo of their own for any of the words in the list below, from three different versions of the verse.

Every month, I plan to award the owner of one photo an 8x10 or 8x8 print of their choosing from my daily photos. The final day for my first print giveaway is today. If you would like to participate and have not yet left a photo link for any word in the list below, leave me one today. I will announce the winner of the print tomorrow evening.

NOTE - Photos do not have to be professional quality. I'm just looking at how well you shared about the word you chose...

Sixty - A Happy First

This is my first big print. I ordered it for Heidi's birthday (don't worry, she knows it's coming!), and since I was ordering a print for someone else, I had it shipped here. There is something absolutely incredible about seeing your own work become this real. Of course, I had to photograph the darn thing.

I am totally in love with these husks, the shape of them, the way they reach, their open approach to winter and death and spring.

If you would like to order a print, please email me your request, including your preferred size, a direct link to the photo (either click into the photo or right-click and copy image location), and your mailing address.

And does anybody know what these things are???
